Reviews Posted to Amazon, Goodreads, and other retailers.

A few of the Books & Benches reviewers (but not all) post their reviews directly to Amazon, Goodreads, and other retailers via their own accounts. Unfortunately, because of Amazon's stringent policies, we cannot guarantee that your posted review will remain live on Amazon. We realize this is inconvenient, but we cannot control Amazon or whether or not they keep a review posted. Books & Benches no longer posts reviews directly to Amazon, and authors are strongly encouraged to share a snippet in the editorial reviews section. You may also read our "letter" to authors about posting reviews on Amazon.

Books & Benches does not have a Goodreads account nor does it post directly to that site. However, many of our reviewers post their reviews on their own Goodreads accounts.

Affiliate Links

Some affiliate links are used on this website. These cost you, the buyer of books, nothing to use and all profits go back into keeping Books & Benches running.

Posting Reviews

Because we believe that comments should be relevant to the post or subject and appropriate for all audiences, they are moderated. If a comment is deemed inappropriate it will be removed, and all subsequent comments by the spammer will be removed. Comments with live links will be considered spam and be removed.

Review Process Info.

Review Process: This is simple—a reviewer reads the book and offers their opinion. As of our relaunch in 2020, we do not post ratings, and only recommend books the reviewer enjoyed. All reviews are the opinion of the reviewer and in no way reflect the opinion(s) of anyone else, or anyone at Books & Benches.

Your Book Copy for Review Disclaimer

Books & Benches reviewers are made up of book readers who simply love to read and help authors by providing honest reviews without spoilers. Reviews are free, and neither Books & Benches or the reviewer is any way compensated for a review.

There is no way to 100% guarantee anything in this world, which is why for the author’s peace of mind, we provide options to submit one of four book formats: print (paperback or hardcover), a ready-to-go e-book that can be uploaded, Kindle Gift Code, and linking to the book on NetGalley. Whichever option the author chooses is entirely up to them. The reviewer is always listed on the review page of a submitted book so the author knows who read and reviewed their book.

Your book goes to one reviewer only. If we happen to have more than one reviewer (always a good thing) who wants to read your book, we ask the author's permission before sending it out again. Books & Benches guarantees that we will not share your book with anyone other than the intended reviewer. However, we cannot guarantee what is done with a book once it is provided to the reviewer. Many reviewers like to donate print copies to libraries or share with friends and family. Reviewers make a promise and guarantee when they become a reviewer that they will in no way copy, share, duplicate, or otherwise distribute a provided e-book in any way, but Books & Benches is not responsible for any book, in any format, once it is provided to the reviewer.
